Shalmaneser III

Šulmanu - ašared III. (also Salmānu - ašarēd III. , Shalmaneser III. , Šulmānu - ašarēd III. ) was from 858 BC to 824 BC King of the Assyrian Empire. His name means: Šalmānu the supreme god.

Life

Šulmanu - ašared III. was the son of his predecessor Ashur - nasir - apli II and his wife Mullissu - mukannišat - Ninua.
