Shalom Simhon

Shalom Simchon (Hebrew שלום שמחון, born December 7, 1956 in Kfar Saba ) is an Israeli politician. He was elected in 1996 for the first time in the Knesset, first for the Avodah, since 2011 he is running for the Ha'Atzma'ut. From 2001 until November 2002 he was Minister of Agriculture from January 2005 to November 2005 he was under the government of Ariel Sharon Environment Minister. Under Ehud Olmert Shalom Simchon was re-appointed Minister of Agriculture, he remained in this position throughout the reign of 2006 to 2009. Among Benjamin Netanyahu he kept this ministerial positions initially, but was appointed in January 2011 to the Minister of Trade and Industry. Since the Ha'Atzma'ut did not compete for the parliamentary elections in Israel 2013, Simchon is not a member of the Knesset more since March 2013. He was also Minister for Minorities in the Israeli cabinet. After his military service, he studied social sciences and worked as a social worker. He now lives in Even Menachem ( אֶבֶן מְנַחֵם ) in the northwest of Ma'alot- Tarshiha
