Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory

The Astrophysical Observatory Şamaxı ( azerbaijan: Şamaxı Astrofizika Rəsədxanası, Sar, English: Shamakhy Astrophysical Observatory, SHAO ) is an observatory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in the Şamaxı region in the South Caucasus, in 1530 meters altitude. It is also known as Tusi Observatory, according to Nasir al-Din al - Tusi. It is under the administration of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.

Instruments

The observatory has a 2 meter diameter large reflecting telescope of the Carl Zeiss Jena and a number of smaller instruments.
