The Shandong Peninsula (山东 半岛chinese /山东 半岛, Pinyin Shandong bàndǎo ) is a peninsula in eastern China's Shandong province east of Jiaolai Valley (胶莱 谷地Jiaolai Gudi ), also known as the Jiaolai level ( Jiaolai Pingyuan胶莱 平原) is called. It is one of three large peninsulas of China and forms the border between the Gulf of Bohai and Bohai Sea ( Bo Hai ) and the Yellow Sea ( Huang Hai ). Your opposite the Liaodong Peninsula. Both peninsulas are separated from each other by the Bohai Strait ( Bohai Haixie ). The peninsula is very hilly. It is rich in mineral resources.

Major cities on the peninsula are Qingdao, Yantai and Weihai.
