Shane Long

Shane Patrick Long ( born January 22, 1987 in Gortnahoe, County Tipperary ) is an Irish football player. Since January 2014 he is in the English Premier League for Hull City under contract.

Career

His football career began at Tipperary St Michael's. At the age of 13, he moved to Cork City. In 2005 he signed a contract with the English first division club FC Reading. After six years at Reading the 1.79 m wide striker moved in August 2011 to West Bromwich Albion.

During the winter break of the season 2013/14 he moved to Hull City, where he signed a contract until 2017.

Internationals

After appointments in the Irish U -21 and the B-team Long played his first international match in the jersey of the Irish national team on 7 February 2007 in qualifying for Euro 2008 against San Marino.
