The Shanghai Shenhua Liansheng Football Club, shortly Shanghai Shenhua (上海 申花) is a Chinese football club, which is represented in the highest league, the Chinese Super League ( CSL).

Club history

The club was founded on 10 December 1993 and plays in the Hongkou Stadium (capacity 35,000 ) in Shanghai. The first sponsor was a local company called " Shenhua ". In 2001, the sponsor and the official club name was subsequently known as " Shanghai Shenhua SVA SMEG Football Club ( SFC) ". In 2007 bought the business owner Zhu Jun, who is also the owner of the city rivals Shanghai United, a large proportion of the association. He named the club after "Shanghai Shenhua Liansheng Football Club ".

Achievements

Shanghai Shenhua won the 1995 and 2003 the Chinese championship in the top division at that time ( Jia A). 2nd place in the years 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000 and 2001 could be achieved.

2004, the Chinese Super League ( CSL) has been established as a new top league. Had the best season in the CSL Shanghai Shenhua in 2005 by winning the runner-up title.

Other achievements are winning the cup in 1998 and the Super Cup in 1996, 1999 and 2002.
