Shannon Briggs

Shannon Briggs ( born December 4, 1971 in Brooklyn, New York, USA) is an American heavyweight boxer and former world champion of the WBO.

Amateur

Briggs began at the age of 19 years with the boxes ( despite a severe asthma ). In his amateur career he nevertheless remarkable 35 wins ( 18 KOs ) get only 3 defeats. In 1991, he lost in the final of the Pan American Games prematurely against Félix Savón. He was American heavyweight champion in 1992, but failed to qualify for the Olympic Games in Barcelona in the preliminary rounds.

Professional career
