Shanta Ghosh

Shanta Ghosh Broderius ( born January 3, 1975 in Neunkirchen ( Saar) ) is a former German athlete who had worked as a 400-meter runner successfully since the late 1990s.

Life

Her father is from Calcutta (India ), from where he emigrated in 1960 to work in Germany as an engineer; her mother is from Oberhausen.

She was German youth and junior champion in the 200 meters. 1996 Ghosh was German high school champion in the 60 meters in the hall. The following year, she won three medals, gold with the 4 x 100 - meter relay and silver over 200 meters and the 4 x 400 -meter relay at the U23 European Championships in Turku.
