Shaoshan
Shaoshan (韶山 市Shaoshan Shì ) a county-level city, which belongs to the administrative area of the prefecture-level city in Xiangtan, central China's Hunan Province. The city has about 118,000 inhabitants ( end of 2011) on an area of 247.3 km ² ( population density. 477.2 inhab / km ²).

The birthplace of Mao Zedong, the town of Shaoshan, belongs to the administrative area of the city. During the Cultural Revolution the city was the target of millions of Red Guards. After a decline in visitor numbers in the late 70s and early 80s of the 20th century Shaoshan is therefore again today a much visited tourist destination of China.

The town of Shaoshan is composed at the community level of three large municipalities and four municipalities. These are:

- Greater community Yintian (银 田镇);
- Community Daping (大 坪乡);

- Community Yanglin (杨林 乡);
- Community Yongyi (永 义 乡).
