Shap

Shap is a place with 1221 ( as of 2001) residents in Cumbria in North West England. The place has since the 17th century market rights.

The place is now on the West Coast Main Line railway. This part of the railway line was inaugurated on 17 December 1846 under the Lancaster and Carlisle Railway. The then also opened railway station was closed in 1968.
