Sharks (band formed 1972)

The Sharks were an English rock band that existed from 1972 to 1974.

Band History

Andy Fraser founded the Sharks in November 1972 after his final departure of Free. The original band members were Fraser ( bass, piano ), Chris Spedding (guitar), Snips (vocals) and Marty Simon (drums). They got a record deal with Iceland Records, where Free was under contract.

Early 1973, they went with their " Shark Mobile ", an old Cadillac with a grille in the form of a Haigebisses, on tour in the UK. On 19 February, she had an accident, in which Fraser injured his hand.

Their first album, First Water, was released in April 1973. Shortly afterwards, Fraser left the band and was replaced by Busta Cherry Jones on bass. In addition, the keyboardist Nick Judd (ex - Audience ) was added.

In September 1973, she went back to the UK on tour. In March 1974, her second album Jab It in Yore Eye out. After a U.S. tour took the Sharks made ​​mid-1974 recordings for their third album, Music Breakout, but its release their record company refused. After several personnel changes, the group split up in October 1974.

In 1993, Spedding and Snips back together and took the Sharks Album Like a Black Van Parked on a Dark Curve ... which was not published until 1995. In 2011 she brought out as King Mob album Force 9.
