Wright -Phillips (2010)
Shaun Cameron Wright -Phillips ( born October 25, 1981 in Greenwich, London ) is an English football player of Jamaican and Grenadian roots. He grew up in Brockley - Located in south London - he attended the " Haberdashers ' Aske 's Hatcham College " and currently plays in the Premier League for Queens Park Rangers.
Shaun Wright -Phillips first played in his youth for Nottingham Forest, before he joined at the age of 15 years, the youth department of Manchester City. There, he signed on 20 July 1999 his first professional contract, came in the third division on 30 October 1999 on his debut against Port Vale in the first team and became the latest in the Erstligasaison 2000/ 01 to a fixture in the team. Moreover, especially by his determined style of play, the technical skills and his speed he made a name for himself as one of the most talented young English players. After the descent and one season in the second division he returned with City in the Premier League for season 2002 /03 back and was mainly on the position at right midfield and as a Right Wing regulars.
For 21 million pounds changed Wright -Phillips on 17 July 2005 on the reigning champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and thus returned to his hometown of London.
Wright -Phillips has signed a five-year contract at Chelsea. First, however, he could not play in the starting line- up, had to deal mainly with weaknesses in the Pits and was with 24 substitutions in 39 games primarily reserve players. His first goal for his new club, he scored on 5 December 2006 in the Champions League against Levski Sofia - until almost 17 months after joining. The first regular season at Chelsea was part of the reason that he was not appointed to the England squad for the 2006 World Cup, and there were increasing already the rumors about a possible loan of Wright -Phillips at his old club in Manchester.
This conjecture joined Wright -Phillips contrary, however, and reiterated that he wanted to fight for his place in the team and was encouraged in this endeavor by coach Jose Mourinho, who in turn transfer speculation about Joaquin from Valencia denied by pointing out that he on the wing positions already had enough options. In the 2006/07 season, his performances improved steadily, and Wright -Phillips came on 18 April 2007 in the match against West Ham United in his first two championship matches. In the following years he was frequently in the starting lineup, including the FA Cup final, which Chelsea won 1-0 ( Wright -Phillips was, however, already been replaced at the time of critical hit ).
Also in the season 2007 /08 he cemented his place on the right flank, was in good early form and prepared a large number of gates before.
For the season 2008/ 09 he returned to Manchester City.
Queens Park Rangers
On 31 August 2011, he joined the newly promoted Premier League Queens Park Rangers and signed a three-year contract.
His debut for the England football team were Wright -Phillips on 18 August 2004 against Ukraine, scoring as a substitute in the second half a goal. Thereafter, he received sporadic more vocations in the English selection during the qualifiers for the 2006 World Cup, but after a prolonged crisis of form and only a small number use in Chelsea him the nomination in the World Cup squad was denied.
In the two qualifying matches for Euro 2008 against Macedonia and Croatia, he came to the right wing position for use. After a good start to the season 2007/ 08 in the club, he was again appointed to the friendly against Germany, and finally on in the second half. Although England lost the match with 1:2, Wright-Phillips could convince with a good performance and was named best player ( "Man of the Match" ) awarded. This earned him a place in the starting XI for the game against Israel on 8 September 2007, in which he scored his second international goal and was named after the 3-0 win re-elected the best player.
