Shawn Fanning

Shawn Fanning ( born November 22, 1980 in Brockton, Massachusetts) is an American Internet entrepreneur.

Projects

  • Napster: he developed in 1998 Napster, the first popular peer-to -peer file sharing platform. Fanning developed the program while he attended Northeastern University in Boston. The media hype surrounding Napster brought the file sharing network, more and more new users, but soon was Napster, the goal of some supported by the music industry processes - which eventually led to the shutdown of the network. Others

Shawn Fanning in 2003 had a small appearance in the film The Italian Job - hunting to millions. He played himself on the side of Seth Green as Lyle, who claims to be the true inventor of Napster.
