Shazdeh Garden

The Shazdeh Garden ( Bāgh Shāhzādeh ( Prince Garden ) or Bāgh Shazdeh ) is a Persian garden in the Kerman province southeast of the eponymous town and 6 km south of the village Mahan. The garden is an oasis in the desert.

History

The 5.5 -acre garden was created in 1850 under the Kadscharenprinzen Mohammad Hasan Khan Sardari Iravani Cachar and later expanded about 1873 Abdul Hamid Mirza and completed after his death by the governor of Kerman in the 1890s. The palace pavilion in the center of the garden was the summer residence of the prince. In 1991 the property was completely renovated on the occasion of a memorial service in honor of Khaju Kermani. Today, parts of the castle can be used as a restaurant.

Shape of the garden

The rectangular landscaped garden is surrounded by a wall and consists of several terraces with pools and pavilions. A central water course with fountains leading to the castle, where the natural slope of the ground is used for the operation.
