Shchuchinsk
Schtschutschinsk ( Kazakh / Russian Щучинск ) is a city in Kazakhstan.
History
Schtschutschinsk was founded in 1850 as a settlement Shchuch'ye ( посёлок Щучье ). 1939 was the place granted town rights.
Geographical location
The town is situated 75 km south- east of the city Kokshetau area Aqmola. Schtschutschinsk is also the administrative center of the rayon of the same name.
Population
The city has 50 128 (2008) inhabitants.
