Shean Donovan

Shean Donovan ( born January 22, 1975 in Timmins, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player. During his active career he played between 1995 and 2010 a total of 1000 games for the San Jose Sharks, Colorado Avalanche, Atlanta Thrashers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Calgary Flames, Boston Bruins and Ottawa Senators in the National Hockey League.

Career

Donovan played during his junior is four years from 1991 to 1995 at the Ottawa 67 's in the Ontario Hockey League. During this time he participated in the Junior World Cup in 1995 and won the Canadian national team the gold medal.

After being selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1993 in the second round to 28th position by the San Jose Sharks, it took these during the 1994/95 season under contract. The Canadians remained the team until the season 1997/98 into loyal and also played in the 1997 World Series, where he won the second gold medal of his career, before he for Mike Ricci for together with the first-round draft pick of the Sharks in NHL Entry Draft 1998 Colorado Avalanche have been made. In the game year 1999/ 00 was followed by the transfer to the Atlanta Thrashers newly established. This put him towards the end of the season 2001 /02 on the waiver list from where it chose the Pittsburgh Penguins. After a further change to the Calgary Flames in March 2003, followed in the 2003/ 04 NHL Donovan's best year with 42 points in 82 games and reaching the final series for the Stanley Cup, where the Flames the Tampa Bay Lightning documents.

Due to the lockout in the NHL during the 2004/ 05 season Donovan moved to Europe. There he played one year for the HC Servette Geneva in the Swiss National League A, before he returned to the 2005/ 06 to the Flames. After the season, we did not renew his expiring contract, whereupon the Canadians went as a free agent with the Boston Bruins. For the 2007 /08 season he played for the Ottawa Senators. After three seasons, but his contract was not renewed in Ottawa.

In November 2010 he finished his career after he had initially participated in the training camp of the Syracuse Crunch.
