Sheila Taormina

Sheila Christine Taormina ( born March 18, 1969 in Livonia ) is an American triathlete, swimmer and pentathlete.

Career

Sheila Taormina started four times at the Olympics - in three different sports: In 1996, she won gold at the Olympics in swimming. 2000 and 2004, she competed at the Olympics in triathlon and finally in Beijing in 2008 in the Pentathlon.

In 2004 she was triathlon world champion in the Olympic distance and in Japan in 2005 Aquathlon World Champion.

In 2008, she was recognized for her achievements with induction into the USA Triathlon Hall of Fame.
