Sheldon Reynolds (producer)

Sheldon Reynolds ( born December 10, 1923 in Philadelphia, † January 25, 2003 in New York City ) was an American television producer, film director and screenwriter.

Reynolds first appeared as a producer of 77teiligen television series Foreign Intrigue in appearance, which was shown from 1951 to 1955; in the years from 1954/1955 he produced parallel also one of the first television series about the characters of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, who showed their adventure in 39 episodes and was partially filmed in Paris. On a total of 20 episodes of the two series he also directed. The mid-1960s he was then working as a film director for two European productions; his debut in this role he had in 1956 with the drama The fifth column, an adaptation and compaction of the series, given. In 1968 he was responsible for a British spy film. With a new Holmes / Watson- series 1979/1980 in 24 episodes, he returned to his position as a television producer. For some of the works of Arthur Conan Doyle Reynolds possessed thanks to the family of his temporary wife Andrea Plunket for some time the rights.
