Shelley Mann

Shelley (b. October 15, 1937 in New York) is a former American swimmer.

She suffered in her childhood polio and so began to strengthen their muscles by swimming. With the power she began swimming at age 12 and was within a few years become one of the most versatile swimmers of their time. At the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 it was over 100 m butterfly Olympic champion and won the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay silver medal. In the fifties she held partly at the same time the world records over 100 m and 200 m butterfly, 100 m freestyle and 400 m medley. Overall, she won national titles in swimming 24.

In 1966, she was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the international swimming sport.
