Sherbrooke Canadiens
The Canadiens de Sherbrooke ( Sherbrooke Canadiens engl. ) was a Canadian ice hockey franchise in the American Hockey League from Sherbrooke, Quebec. The venue for the Canadiens was the Palais des Sports.
History
The Nova Scotia Voyageurs in 1984 by Sherbrooke, Quebec, resettled, where they played as a farm team of the Montreal Canadiens under the name de Sherbrooke Canadiens of the American Hockey League. Already in its first season, the team won in the 1984/85 season the Calder Cup when they beat the Baltimore Skipjacks in the finals with a 4-2 victory. After Sherbrooke missed the playoffs the following year, reached the Canadiens in the 1986/87 season again the playoff final, in which they almost defeated by the Rochester Americans with 3:4 victories. In the following three years, the Canadians stepped twice in the first and once in the second playoff round from before the Sherbrooke Canadiens in 1990 to Fredericton, New Brunswick, resettled, where they were active from now on as Fredericton Canadiens of the AHL.
