Sheriff Teddy is a German children's film DEFA Heiner Carow from the year of 1957. It is based on the homonymous children's book by Benno Pludra, who was also involved in the screenplay.

Action

The 13 -year-old Kalle lives in West Berlin where he is leader of the Teddy band. In his everyday life as " Sheriff Teddy" he calls the shots and continues with courage and power struggles against children by that undermine his authority and would like to be leader of the gang. One day, his parents drag him to East Berlin. Kalle is teased by the band members, but now he had to submit to the system and wear a scarf. In fact, it has Kalle heavy in his new class. Sheriff Teddy is based on the homonymous children's book by Benno Pludra, who was also involved in the screenplay. The film was in 1956 in Berlin, including the Rosenthalerplatz and the Silesian Gate and on the Friedrichstrasse, rotated. The costumes created Helga Scherff, the Filmbauten come from Alfred Tolle. The film underwent on 29 November 1957 at the Central House of Young Pioneers in Berlin his movie premiere. In 2010, he appeared at Icestorm on DVD. It was the feature film debut of director Heiner Carow.

From the contemporary critics, the film was initially a continuation of Gerhard Klein's Berlin Series - ... Schönhauser - - praised Alarm at the Circus, A Berlin Romance, Berlin. Carow had learned the directorial craft at Klein.
