Shevchenko National Prize

The Taras Shevchenko Prize ( Ukrainian: Національна премія України імені Тараса Шевченка ) is considered the highest price in the Ukraine in culture and art. He was awarded on 20 May 1961 by the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR and awarded annually for outstanding works of culture, art, journalism and journalism from the Ukraine.

The first prize winners were on 9 March 1962, the writer Pavlo Tychyna and Oles Hont crowd, as well as the composer Plato Majboroda.

The price is currently endowed with 260,000 hryvnia.
