Shevchenko Raion

The Shevchenko Raion (Ukrainian Шевченківський район / rayon Schewtschenkiwskyj; Russian Шевченковский район / Shevchenkovsky raion ) is one of the ten Stadtrajone the Ukrainian capital Kiew.Der Name of lying in the center of Kiev Raion was awarded in honor of the Ukrainian national poet Taras Shevchenko.

The Rajon was founded in 1937, in 2001 the Rajone Radjansk and Stary Kyiv were incorporated.

Streets and squares

The Rajon can come up with many famous streets and squares. Mention may be made of Khreshchatyk, Kiev Capital Boulevard, which starts at the European Court, then the Maidan Nezalezhnosti cuts and the Bessarabska Square ends to which the Taras Shevchenko Boulevard begins.
