Shimon Shetreet

Shim'on Schitrit (Hebrew שמעון שטרית, born March 1, 1946 in Erfoud, French North Africa, today's Morocco ) is a former Israeli politician who until 1996 held various ministerial posts from 1992.

He moved with his family in 1949 to Israel, where he studied law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he earned a Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws. He went to the University of Chicago, where he earned a Doctor of Laws.

In 1988 he was Member of the Knesset the HaMa'arach. In 1992 he was re-elected ( in the meantime was out of HaMa'arach the Avodah become ) was Schitrit Economic Strategy Minister of Israel, and Science and Technology Minister. In June 1993, Shulamit Aloni was Science and Technology Minister, Schitrit received it in February 1992 the ministerial posts for the Ministry for services to religion. When Shimon Peres formed by the Avodah, after the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin on 4 November 1995, a new government on 22 November 1995 Schitrit once again received the ministerial posts for the Ministry for services of worship, but lost his ministerial post as Israeli economy strategy Minister ( Economic Strategy Minister of Israel).
