Shin Joon-sup

Shin Joon- sup ( Hangul: 신준섭, Hanja :申俊燮; born June 17, 1963 in Namwon, Jeollabuk-do ) is a retired South Korean boxer. Shin won the gold medal at the 1984 Olympic Games and the Asian Games in 1984.

Career

Shin began at the age of 16 years with the boxes and started back in 1982 for the South Korean box select the Tammer Tournament in Tampere, in which he finished third in the middleweight division. The following year, he participated in the World Cup in Rome and was able to this with victories among others Pedro Gamarro, Venezuela ( 5:0 ), Noe and Cruciani, Italy ( 4-1 ), winning, which he also qualified for the 1984 Olympic Games.

In the Olympics, Shin won the gold medal. During the tournament he beat Patrick Lihanda, Uganda (5:0), Rick Duff, Canada ( 4:1), Jeremiah Okorodudu, Nigeria (4:1), Aristides González, Puerto Rico ( 4:1), and in the final Virgil Hill, United States ( 3-2 ).

After the career

He now lives in Atlanta, Georgia and operates its own business.
