Shinjin Motors
Shinjin (Korean: 신진, in German: young ) is a former automobile manufacturer from South Korea, who was a free member of the General Motors Korea ( GMK ) from late 1971 and offered its vehicles under its own brand name. Founded in 1964, bought Shinjin motor unexpectedly on the GMK and therefore slid into financial difficulties. This, however, was the Saehan Motor, which was sold in 1983 through the Korea Development Bank to the Daewoo Group. Shinjin engine, however, still existed until 1987 and was then bought by Dong -A Motor, which was then itself yet adopted the same year by Daewoo Motors.
The bus manufacturer Shinjin Bus Manufacturing Company was founded in 1955 and the same was an independent company and is now a part of Daewoo Motors Bus Division.
Models
Model history
The first of them was the Shinjin Publica, which was presented in 1965. 1966 finally began the series production. The model is a license of the same name Toyota model. In the same year also start the production of the Shinjin Corona, a small middle class sedan with a 44 -horsepower engine. In the same class also mounted on behalf of Fiat Fiat 124 ranked in the following year finally established, the manufacturer also his first luxury car, the Shinjin Crown, which was, however, set a year later. 1971 started Shinjin engine with the New Crown Shinjin his second attempt to enter into this segment. But this time it did not succeed to the manufacturer.
From now on, sat Shinjin engine only to vehicles and engines of the German Adam Opel AG, which appeared in South Korea high popularity. The new entry-level model was now the athletic Shinjin Royale, which was based on the current Opel Ascona A. In 1972 came the Shinjin record in his two separated model versions in 1900 and Royale on the market. The two sedans were licensing models of the Opel Rekord D and lasted until 1978 in production. Available both were with 53-154 hp. In the compact class Shinjin engine offered the sport coupe based on the Opel Kadett C sister model Shinjin Maepsy. 1976 underwent one the Royale a generation change and replaced this by the two new models Shinjin Royale Diesel and Shinjin Royale Duke. After another generation of these models Shinjin engine was finally bought by the Dong -A motor so I stopped as automotive brand to exist.
