Shiogama, Miyagi
Shiogama (Japanese塩 竃 市, -shi ) is a city in Miyagi Prefecture on Honshu, the main island of Japan.
The Port of Shiogama is one of the most important tuna fishing.
Geography
Shiogama is located north of Sendai and Matsushima south of the Pacific Ocean.

History
On 11 March 2011 the city was hit by the Tohoku earthquake and the subsequent tsunami. Until May 20, 21 dead and missing persons were counted.
