Shiona Baird

Shiona Baird ( born 14 September 1946 in Hereford ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Scottish Green Party.

Baird visited the Hereford High School, the Mary Erskine School in Edinburgh and then studied social sciences at the University of Edinburgh. Subsequently she worked as a social worker in West Lothian active and then maintained a farm in Dundee.

Scottish Parliament

In the first Scottish Parliament elections in 1999 Baird went to the Scottish Green Party. However, they applied not to the direct mandate of a constituency but ran on the Regional Evaluation of the Greens in the election region of North East Scotland. Since the Greens could send no candidate due to the election results, Baird failed to reach the newly created Scottish Parliament. In the following parliamentary elections in May 2003, the Scottish Greens have increased their share of the vote and Baird moved as the top ranked regional election list as the only Green MP for North East Scotland in the Scottish Parliament. Although she was again set to the first rank of the Regional Evaluation of the Greens, she lost in the parliamentary elections in 2007, its mandate and retired from the Parliament from.
