Shipbroking

A company is referred to as brokers, which primarily deals with the charters, the Schiffsan and sale and the port agency ( ship handling ). A ship broker is in the legal sense in accordance with HGB trade brokers; compare § 93 HGB:

Line agency

A company is referred to as a line agency, which represents one or more shipping lines. A line agency is therefore in the legal sense in accordance with HGB sales representatives; compare § 84 HGB:

• Commercial agent, who are entrusted as a self- order to provide for a different business transactions or to conclude on its behalf.

For transactions entered into, the line agency entitled to the commission, which by their supplier (customer) is to be paid. This contract price is also called agency fee.

One of the tasks of a line agency include, inter alia:

• Charge acquisition, freight collection, registration for the upcoming shipping charge, delivery of incoming cargo, documentation and clearance documents, port agency.
