Shlomo Amar

Shlomo Moshe Amar (Hebrew שלמה משה עמאר; * 1948 in Casablanca, Morocco) is one of two major rabbis in Israel. Shlomo Amar, the Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel and has held the office since 2003.

The other chief rabbi in Israel, the Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger, has been suspended over corruption allegations, which he denies in June 2013 even by some offices.
