The International Short Film Festival shnit is a common oriented international short film festival in Switzerland, Germany and since 2011 also in other countries such as South Africa, Austria, Singapore and Costa Rica. It takes place every October in Bern, Cologne, Cape Town, Vienna, Singapore and San Jose.

History

The festival was founded in 2003 in Bern under the name shnit short film nights in the cinema of the Cultural Center indoor arena launched. From the two-day event for short films of all genres, a multi-day festival with an international tender price, numerous special competitions and a wide program of workshops and public film Talks developed in the subsequent period.

Since 2005, the International Short Film Festival takes place each October in shnit Progr and in various cinemas in the center of Bern.
