Shodo Harada

Shōdō Harada (Japanese原田 正道, Harada Shōdō; born 1940 ) is a Japanese Zen master. He is a representative of the Rinzai school and successor of Yamada Mumon ( 1900-88 ).

Harada joined at the age of 22 years in the monastery in Kobe Shofukuji one. In 1982 he received the teaching license and was superior of the monastery Sogenji in Okayama, where he has taught mainly foreign students. Harada cared Zen groups in different countries, for example in the USA, Mexico, India, Italy, Denmark, Poland, Lithuania, Switzerland and Germany. Shodo Harada Roshi Once a year comes into the Zen monastery Hokuozan Sogenji, Asendorf to conduct a week of intensive Zen practice here.

Hokuozan Sogenji Shodo Harada Roshi was founded by and is the European center of the One Drop Zendo line. As abbess Shodo Harada Roshi has his long-time student Shoe used, previously lived 20 years with him in Sogenji monastery and practiced.
