Shorty Templeman

Clark " Shorty" Templeman ( born August 12, 1919 in Pueblo, † August 24 1962 in Marion ) was an American race car driver.

Templeman played in his career 42 races for AAA National Series and the USAC Championship. Four times he was with the 500 miles of Indianapolis at the start. His best finish was second place in the race in DuQuoin and Syracuse in 1961. Rang.4 By 1961 he reached his best result in Indianapolis.

Templeman secured five Washington state Midget titles, three times he triumphed in Oregon. As the first riders in the Midget series he was in 1958 consecutively for the third time overall winner of the USAC Midget National Series.

Since the 500 miles of Indianapolis belonged from 1950 to 1960 the world championship of Formula 1, in Templeman are also three races in the statistics. Points he could not achieve.

Templeman died in 1962 at the serious injuries he had suffered in an accident at the Midget race at Marion.
