Shota Arveladze

Shota Arveladze (. Georgian შოთა არველაძე, English transcription Shota Arveladze; * 22 February 1973 in Tbilisi ) is a retired Georgian football player and current head coach of Turkish first division club Kasımpaşa Istanbul.

Playing career

Arveladze, whose twin brother Archil Arveladze is also football player, currently with 27 goals top scorer of the Georgian national team, for whom he played 63 games.

Arveladze began his career as a professional soccer player in his home at various clubs in Tbilisi. The breakthrough came at Dinamo Tbilisi, as he made known abroad. Consequently, he left Georgia and moved to Trabzonspor in Turkey. In 1997 he went to the Dutch Eredivisie for Ajax Amsterdam. After four years he moved for two million pounds to the British island and he went to Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers. 2005 Shota Arveladze returned to Holland, for AZ Alkmaar. In 2007 he moved to the Spanish club Levante UD. He finished his career after four short sessions.

He was for Dinamo Tbilisi, Trabzonspor and Ajax Amsterdam at least once a scorer for each league. In Turkey, he wore a long time relatively (0.83 goals / game ) and absolute ( 25 goals ) the best odds of a non-Turkish scorers in a season in the Super Lig until the end of the season 2010/11 was replaced by Alexsandro de Souza. This surpassed Arveladze with the relative (0.85 goals / game ) and absolute ( 28 goals) ratio.

Coaching career

Following an assistant coach at Dutch club AZ Alkmaar shaft he became the 2010/2011 season coach of the Turkish Süper Lig club Kayserispor. This club coached by 6 matchday of the 2012/ 13 and announced his retirement after Matchday known.

Just two weeks after his departure from Kayserispor he was introduced to the league rivals Kasımpaşa Istanbul as the new coach and successor of Metin Diyadin.
