The Shotel is a sword from Abyssinia ( Ethiopia).

History

The Shotel was developed by the Abyssinian tribes. Since the Abyssinian knew no fencing techniques, they used the Shotel to stab over and around the shield of the opponent or pull away the shield.

Description

The Shotel has an unusually curved blade. In some versions it forms almost a semicircle. The blade is double-edged and has a strong grade, whereby the blade cross-section is lozenge ( diamond blade ). The tip ( place ) is worked out thin and long.
