The Shōwa station or Syowa Base (Japanese昭和 基地, Shōwa kichi ) is a research station of the Japanese Antarctic Research, which was, in the 32nd year of the Shōwa era, built on the Antarctic island Ongul 1957. Since 1970 rockets of the types S -160 and S -210 are started from the Showa Station regularly.
