Shrewsbury and Atcham

Shrewsbury and Atcham was an administrative district with the status of a borough in the county of Shropshire in England. Administrative headquarters was the town of Shrewsbury, lived nearly three-quarters of the population of the boroughs in the. Otherwise, the district consisted only of small villages, including Atcham, Bayston Hill and Pontesbury. Shrewsbury is the city of flowers and place of birth of Charles Darwin.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the Municipal Borough of Shrewsbury and Atcham Rural District. On 1 April 2009 it was disbanded due to a territorial and administrative reform.
