Shrink wrap

This packaging has to meet some of most diverse criteria, on the one hand, the shrink film packaging (laminate flooring, edge glued panels, lining ) with polyethylene film in the wood packaging customary to allow a so-called transport packaging a safe and easy transportation to the customer. Polyethylene film is used here because it is inexpensive and easy disposal. The second application is the so-called retail packaging. For these come polyolefin films, also known as collation shrink film used. You can meet this packaging for CDs, DVDs, puzzles, technical articles, etc. Polyolefinefolien consist of a Kunststoffmix of polyethylene, polypropylene and other ingredients. The demand for polyolefin films for the German market is estimated at about 6800 tons / year.

Function of a horizontal tubular bag machine

Continuous operation with side sealing

The product is fed via belts or a finger conveyor chain of the form shoulder. There, a half tube is formed, which is slightly larger than the product to be packaged, the same products at the correct intervals to be bayed. Now the half -filled with products hose is conveyed by means of a suction belt to one side welding station. The side seal station, the film is welded to the remaining open side of the half- tube and at the same time separates the waste strip from. It is wound up and recycled. The product is then conveyed to the transverse weld, in which the front or rear seam is produced. In this case the transverse welding is continuously, ie the transverse weld runs synchronously to the product during welding and after welding moves back to the next gap. Once the product is fully welded, it runs into the shrink tunnel. In the shrink tunnel, temperatures between 120 degrees and 250 degrees Celsius, depending on speed and film type and thickness. The packaging machine performance go from 300 cycles / hour ( small machine ) up to 15,000 cycles / hour ( high-performance machines ).

Stroke end operation with continuous side sealing

The machine works on the same principle as described above, however, the machine stops, in order to weld the bag face side.

Continuous operation with overlap up or down

Here, the product is typically conveyed only with a finger transport chain to form shoulder. The half- hose but here shaped so that the foil from above and comes down and is then placed over a distance of about 1-2 meters of the product. It remains above or below a film overlap of 20-50 mm. This overlap is then sealed to form a closed bag manufacture. The transverse welding works here as well as at the side of the welding machine. A shrinkage of the bag here is not absolutely necessary since the bag can be made extremely narrow. Packaging capacity of the machines: 4000 cycles / hour up to 15,000 cycles / hour.
