Shvetsov M-11
The Shvetsov M-11 was an air-cooled 5-cylinder radial engine from the Soviet production.
History
The engine was developed on the basis of a tendered in 1923 design competition for aircraft engines for use in sports aircraft. The original Shvetsov M-8 engine called was refined and it was 1927-1959 about 125,000 units of various series made .
The cylinder head is made of aluminum. The OHV valves of each cylinder are actuated by a separate camshaft. Initially, the engine had a MTBO of only 50 hours. The engine was built in 1927 with 73 kW (100 PS) first approved continuous power for aviation.
