Shyam Saran

Shyam Saran ( born September 4, 1946) is an Indian politician.

Shyam Saran was ambassador to Myanmar and high commissioner in Mauritius. From August 2001 to October 2002, he was Ambassador to Indonesia and from November 2002 to July 2004 in Nepal. Saran then changed on 1 August 2004 to the post of "Foreign Secretary" (Secretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ) under Kanwar Natwar Singh. He was replaced on October 1 of Shivshankar Menon. Saran was appointed special envoy to the negotiations on the nuclear agreement between India and the United States.
