Shyam Selvadurai

Shyam Selvadurai (born 1965 in Colombo, Ceylon ) is a Sri Lankan - Canadian writer.

He is a Tamil- Sinhalese ancestry and Christian. In 1984 he moved with his family to Canada. Selvadurai received the BFA at York University and now lives in Toronto.

With that 1994 novel Funny Boy Selvadurai won the Books in Canada First Novel Award. For the novel published in 2005, Swimming in the Monsoon Sea, he was awarded the Lambda Literary Award in the category of literature for children and young people.
