In June, their playing time dropped again, this was partly due to the small depth of Ely and the other on the fact that the Storm with Camille Little took a player under contract who plays the same position as Ely. In July, their situation changed again, as Jackson in Beijing left the team because of the Summer Olympic Games in 2008. Thus they got some more than 20 minutes of playing time due to the absence of Jackson. Of course, this situation changed again when Jackson came back. Although the Storm had this season one of the strongest squads in the league, the Storm went from empty to Ely was able to achieve in their first four years in the WNBA still no real team success. But this was already the last season of Ely for the Storm since she signed with the Chicago Sky on 12 January 2009.
