Si Chomphu District

Amphoe Si Chompoo ( Thai: อำเภอ สีชมพู ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Khon Kaen. The Khon Kaen Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise): Amphoe Si Bun Rueang the province Nongbua Lamphu, Amphoe Nong Na Kham which, Wiang Kao and Chum Phae in Khon Kaen Province, and Amphoe Phu Kradueng Loei province.

History

Si Chompoo was born on July 1, 1965 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by the three tambon Si Suk, Si and Na Chompoo Chan were separated from Chum Phae. On 1 March 1969 he was promoted to Amphoe.

The name of the district was originally in Thai " ศรี ชมพู ", but he was also " Si Chompoo " pronounced.

Administrative units

Amphoe Si Chompoo is ( tambon) divided into ten municipalities, which in turn in 107 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

There are three small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Si Chompoo ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สีชมพู ), consisting of parts of the tambon Wang Phoem,
  • Na Chan ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล นา จาน ), consisting of the whole tambon Na Chan,
  • Wang Phoem ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล วัง เพิ่ม ), consisting also of parts of the tambon Wang Phoem.

There are also eight administrative organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).
