The Siam Commercial Bank Public Company Limited (in short: SCB; Thai: ธนาคาร ไทย พาณิชย์ - Thanakan Thai Phanit, "Thai Commercial Bank") was the first bank in Thailand. It was in 1907 at the instigation of Prince Mahisara Rajaharudaya ( Thai: พระองค์เจ้า ไช ยัน ต มงคล กรม หมื่น มหิศร ราช หฤทัย - Phra Chai Yan - ongchao Tamongkhon Krom Muen Mahison Racha Haruethai ) with the permission of his brother, King Chulalongkorn ( Rama V ), based in Thailand.

General

It is the second largest bank in Thailand, the largest by market capitalization. Also its branch network, with more than 1,019 branches and 8,006 ATMs, the largest of Thailand (as of 31 December 2010).

The largest shareholder is the Crown Property Bureau with 21.31% (as of January 2012).

Chairman of the Board of Directors ( Board ) is the former Prime Minister Anand Panyarachun. Chief Executive Officer (Chairman of the Executive Committee ) is Vichit Suraphongchai. President is Kannikar Chalitaporn.
