Siamese Dream is the second studio album by the American band The Smashing Pumpkins. It was released on 27 July 1993 and was more than 6 million copies worldwide ..

During the recording of the album there were massive conflicts within the group. Billy Corgan looked well despite competition from Kurt Cobain and his band Nirvana and wanted an equally successful album release as Nevermind, which was just as Siamese Dream by Butch Vig produced. He had a nervous breakdown and was considering to take his own life. These thoughts processed Corgan especially in the song Today.

Reception

The new edition of the deluxe edition received a Metascore of 96 %, based on 21 professional reviews. Among other things, Pitchfork Media and Allmusic gave the album in retrospect perfect score.

In 1998, Siamese Dream reached all time by Q magazine space 67 In a survey of the German music magazine Visions it was elected number 47 of the 150 albums for the ages in 2005 in the election for best album.
