Sibelius Academy

The Sibelius Academy (Finnish Sibelius Akatemia, Min. Sibelius Akademin ) in Helsinki and Kuopio was the only music university in Finland and counted as the largest music college Scandinavia 's leading institutions in Europe. It was in 1882 as Helsingfors music institute ( " Helsinki School of Music " ) founded and named after the famous Finnish composer and father of Finnish music by Jean Sibelius in 1939. Sibelius himself taught there 1890-92.

Beginning of 2013 merged the Sibelius Academy, together with the Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki and the Theatre Academy Helsinki University of Arts Helsinki.
