Siberut macaque

The Siberut Macaque (Macaca Siberu ) is a primate of the species of macaques within the family Cercopithecidae ( Cercopithecidae ). Sometimes he is with the Pagai macaque Macaca as pagensis Siberu to a common type ( Mentawai macaque ) summarized.

Siberut macaque macaques are all built as relatively robust. The coat is dark colored, flashy is a white Backenbehaarung. The tail is like the closely related pig-tailed macaques only a short stub.

These animals live exclusively on the Indonesian island of Siberut, which belongs to the nearby Mentawai Islands off Sumatra. Their habitat is primarily the mangrove and swampy rain forests of the island.
