Sichon District

Amphoe Sihon ( Thai: อำเภอ สิชล ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the north of the province of Nakhon Si Thammarat. The Nakhon Si Thammarat province is located in the southern region of Thailand, about 780 km south of Bangkok on the east coast of the Malay Peninsula to the Gulf of Thailand.

Geography

Neighbouring districts (from the south clockwise): Amphoe Tha Sala and the Nopphitam in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Kanchanadit and Don Sak in the province of Surat Thani and Nakhon Si Thammarat in Khanom again. To the east lies the Gulf of Thailand.

The National Park Namtok Si Khit also lies in the district of Sihon.

Management

Amphoe Sichon is divided into nine municipalities ( tambon), which in turn in 106 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

Sihon is also the name of a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district, it consists of parts of the tambon Khanom.

In addition, there are nine " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
