Sidari
Sidari, Greek Σιδάρι (n. sg. ), Is a coastal village in the municipality of Esperies the north of the Greek island of Corfu and community.
The place
Today Sidari is a less touristy oriented and consists essentially of a single-lane thoroughfare, at the sides of which hotels, souvenir shops and tavernas. Sidari is mostly visited by the British.
A long stretch of white sand beach with Lehm-/Sandstein-Klippen and deep fjords stretches along the north coast and offers good swimming and surfing. Ports are not present on the north coast of Corfu.
Canal d' Amour
In Sidari is at the end of a long sandy beach, the Canal d' Amour. The Canal d' Amour is a 10-20 meter long natural rock tunnel that connects two small bays with each other between the local sandstone rocks. According to a legend, lovers, which swim through it, are soon at the altar or at least have good luck in love.
