Siechenbach (Wunsiedel)

The Siechenbach is a river in the city of Wunsiedel, County Wunsiedel (Northeast Bavaria). The origins of the creek just north of the Forest Department Kappel flows from east and fed with its water, some ponds in Schwarzenbach reason. It ends after 2.8 km before the district screw hammer into the river Röslau. On Siechenbach clay deposits for the manufacture of pottery were exploited.

Name

At the origin of the creek was a special infirmary for Aussatzkranke, which is documented in a town called bill in 1427. The house was attached to a chapel, which was dedicated to St. James the Elder. The stream name is thus derived from the infirmary for about 150 years existing.
